This Privacy Policy explains how Tara Beasley-Stansberry for Vallejo City Council 2026 (District 5) (the “Campaign,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit taraforvallejo.com (the “Site”) or interact with our online forms, communications, and services.

1) Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

A. Information you provide directly

  • Contact information (such as name, email address, phone number, mailing address, ZIP code)

  • Supporter information (such as volunteering interests, endorsement submissions, event RSVPs, and messages you send us)

  • Donation-related information (if/when donations are enabled), which may include name, address, email, phone, and information required for campaign finance compliance such as occupation and employer (as applicable). Payment card details are processed by our payment provider and generally are not stored by the Campaign.

B. Information collected automatically
When you use the Site, we (and our service providers) may automatically collect:

  • Device and browser data (IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system)

  • Usage data (pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, referring/exit pages)

  • Approximate location (such as city/region inferred from IP address)

C. Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to operate the Site, understand traffic, improve performance, and measure campaign outreach effectiveness.

2) How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the Site and campaign communications

  • Respond to your requests, questions, and messages

  • Send updates about the campaign, events, volunteer opportunities, and important announcements

  • Process donations (when enabled) and maintain compliance records

  • Improve the Site, content, and user experience

  • Measure and improve our outreach (including via analytics and advertising tools)

  • Protect the security and integrity of the Site and prevent fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity

  • Comply with legal obligations, including campaign finance and reporting requirements

3) How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers/vendors: We may share information with vendors that help us operate the Site and campaign activities (for example, website hosting, email delivery, texting tools, analytics, advertising measurement, form tools, and payment processors). These vendors are permitted to use information only to provide services to us.

  • ​Donation-related information: If/when donations are enabled, contributions made through this Site may be processed by Anedot and its payment processing partners. The Campaign does not receive or store full payment card numbers. Donation information you submit (such as name, address, email, contribution amount, and information required for campaign finance compliance, including occupation and employer when applicable) will be processed and transmitted to the Campaign for compliance and reporting purposes.

  • Legal/compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental request, or to comply with campaign finance reporting obligations.

  • Protection and security: We may disclose information to protect the rights, safety, and security of the Campaign, our supporters, or the public.

  • Organizational changes: If the Campaign undergoes a change such as restructuring or transfer of assets, information may be transferred as part of that process, consistent with applicable law.

4) Donation-Related Information

Donation Processing (Anedot)
If/when donations are enabled, contributions made through this Site may be processed by Anedot and its payment processing partners. The Campaign does not receive or store full payment card numbers. Donation information you submit (such as name, address, email, contribution amount, and information required for campaign finance compliance, including occupation and employer when applicable) will be processed and transmitted to the Campaign for compliance and reporting purposes.

5) Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure

Campaign finance laws may require the Campaign to collect and report certain information about contributors. Some contribution information may become publicly available in campaign finance filings, as required by law.

6) Email and SMS Communications

  • Email: If you provide your email, we may send campaign updates and messages related to your requests. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails.

  • SMS/Texting (if/when enabled): If you provide your mobile number and opt in, we may send campaign text messages (including event reminders and volunteer opportunities). Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP (or following the opt-out instructions provided in the message).

7) Analytics and Advertising Tools

We may use analytics and advertising measurement tools (such as traffic analytics and pixels) to understand how people use the Site and to measure outreach performance. These tools may collect information through cookies or similar technologies. You can adjust cookie settings in your browser and may be able to limit tracking through device and browser privacy controls.

8) Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to support campaign operations, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

9) Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect information collected through the Site. However, no website or data transmission is guaranteed to be 100% secure. You use the Site at your own risk.

10) Children’s Privacy

This Site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

11) Your Privacy Choices

  • Opt out of campaign emails using the unsubscribe link in any email

  • Opt out of campaign texts (if applicable) by replying STOP

  • Request that we update or correct your information by contacting us (see Section 13)

  • Control cookies through browser settings and certain device privacy settings

12) California Privacy Notice (General)

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under California privacy laws depending on applicability, such as rights to request access to or deletion of certain personal information. The Campaign will honor applicable requests consistent with legal obligations and campaign finance requirements.
